| Information | I joined EY to train as a chartered accountant in corporate tax and studied with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England & Wales and then also for the Institute of Tax exams. I therefore have knowledge of both audit and tax within the 'Big 4' (although have only ever worked full time in tax). |
| Things I Wish I'd Known | Just how much fun Durham was and how different working for a living would be! The accountancy exams really are quite hard work and not simply a case of turning up on the day! I joined expecting to leave when I got my qualification and have found myself enjoying tax a lot so have stayed - tax is in many ways quite legally based and very different from being an auditor. |
