| Information | I have worked abroad in TEFL, including Assistant Director of Studies and Key Account Management in a private language school, I also ran my own training company and consultancy in Germany and UK from 20007 - 2017. So I have experience of self employment directorship and entrepreneurship. I have more recently been working in Employability in Further Education (vocational) and am now a Senior Manager in External Employer Realtionships for the biggest FE College in the UK. |
| Things I Wish I'd Known | I wish I had known how valuable proper, relevant work experience is in shaping your plans and your CV. This would have given me better scaffolding along my way. Unbiased, practical Careers advice from a qualified professional is invaluable, as is some 1-1 coaching : All things I couldn't take advantage of, as they were not available back in the early 90s, but I can see the value of them with the young people we support now in the institute I work for now. Work experience really is key. |
