News: Association donates £10,000 to Jubilee Development Project

At the Grey Association AGM on 26 March, members voted unanimously to donate £10,000 from the Association’s funds to the College’s Jubilee Development Project (JDP).

Phase one of the project incorporating an extension of the library and JCR will begin in August 2011 and the College will soon start fundraising for phase two which will include an extension of Fountains Hall and a development of four Fellow’s flats in the Hollingside ‘back quad’, in conjunction with the University’s Research Institutes.

Retiring President Henry Dyson said

During the College’s fiftieth anniversary year, the Association was unable to support the JDP financially as reserves were low, but now we are in a healthier financial position, I am pleased that we have been able to make this £10,000 donation, which will be matched by the University.
